Description of post: Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish Translation & Interpreting, full-time appointment in the Department of French, Italian & Comparative Literature. Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service. Expertise in translation technology and/or translation theory is highly desirable.

Description of post: The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Graduate Program in Translation announces one fixed-term, teaching academic staff position in translation and interpreting for academic year 2011-2012. The Translation Programme sets out to provide an education in bilingual studies which can produce graduates with competence in Chinese and English as well as a capacity to think for themselves. Another feature is the importance attached to the socio-cultural environment of the Chinese and English languages. The appointee will be required to teach courses in one or more of the following areas: translation (including legal or/and business translation), interpreting (English and Cantonese or/and Putonghua), linguistics, translation and culture. Excellent command of Chinese and English is a must, and experience of teaching translation (both theory and practice), interpreting, or comparative literature/linguistics will be an advantage.
